Australian Mookaite Jasper Heart Gemstone Cabochon Hand Crafted By LEXX STONES 72 Carats

Here for your consideration is a superb Australian Mookaite Cabochon. This opalite cabochon displays trippy Yellow, Gold and dripping Burgundy lava patterns.

Mookaite was formed as the skeletal remains of radiolaria, microscopic protozoa with a hard silica shell, were deposited over millennia as sediment in shallow areas of sea beds. As waters receded, the remains were solidified by additional silica carried in groundwater, along with minerals that produced its beautiful combinations of red, burgundy, mustard-yellow, cream, white, brown, mauve and purple.

Vitreous polish on the front and back. Standard dome radius. An awesome focal piece for your next wire wrap or bezel set. Quite a cool collectible as well!

This hand crafted cabochon is untreated and unheated. Hand cut and polished by me.  Photographed dry under full spectrum LEDs.
