This particular "Angel Wing" specimen displays an incredibly deep, rich green interspersed with chatoyant silver sprays, tight grain, and exhibits a lovely rich hue that can only come from quality Siberian Seraphinite. This quality material is mined only a few months out of the year where the miners are flown in by helicopter, and is in fairly short supply due to the harsh weather. Unheated, untreated, un-"stabilized"...
Seraphinite is a trade name for a particular form of clinochlore, a member of the chlorite group. Seraphinite acquired its name due to its resemblance to feathers due to its chatoyancy. Seraphinite is named after the biblical seraphs or seraphim angels.
