Here for your consideration is a delightful Hells Canyon Petrified Wood cabochon. This silicified miocene era Sequoia exhibits interesting herringbone pattern interspersed with a rustic woody matrix. The rot pockets have been agatized and crystalized over the eons. This very scarce material was originally collected near the Snake River Canyon near the Idaho Oregon border. The collection site is now underwater due to the Hells Canyon dam construction. Vitreous polish front and back. Standard radius dome.
