Here for your consideration is a spectacular "Stardust" Nephrite Jade donut from Wyoming. This very scarce Wyoming nephrite jade comes from an area near Kortes. It is unusual in that it's not actually black but a really deep dark green and has a lighter matrix rind than most of the other black jades from that area. I haven't had it analyzed but I suspect the specks are a form of hematite, magnetite, pyrite or limonite, given the area is so rich in iron. Maybe even an outside guess of cristobalite polymorph.
Vitreous polish on both sides. 45° chamfered holes. The center hole is highly polished as well. Gold chain and clasp not included.
Photographed dry under full spectrum LED with front and back lighting. Hand made by Lexx.
A wonderful focal piece!. A perfect heirloom as well. Use your imagination! A must have for the quality Jade collecting connoisseur.
